(Switzerland County, Ind.) – Switzerland County School Corporation will have two new administrators for the 2018-2019 school year – one face familiar and the other new.

The school district announced Monday that the school board has unanimously voted to hire Rod Hite at the district’s new superintendent.

Hite, a 1993 graduate of Switzerland County High School, was the principal at South Ripley High School last school year. He was previously principal at South Ripley Junior High School from 2010 until 2014. He was an assistant superintendent of Richland-Bean Blossom Community School Corporation in Elletsville in the 2016-2017 school year.

He will replace retiring superintendent Dr. Michael Jones, who announced in March he was retiring after more than 50 years in education, mostly in Switzerland County.

Switzerland County High School will have a new principal when students return in August, but they’ll recognize his name. David Todd has been the school’s assistant principal and athletic director for the past 11 years.

Todd has 25 years experience in education, with 21 of them in the Switzerland County School Corporation.

Last year’s SCHS principal, Gregg Goewert, announced in February he would be resigning this summer. He had been principal since 2012.
