Suspect in U.S. 50 Assault Case Arrested, Pleads Not Guilty During Initial Appearance

(Lawrenceburg, Ind.) - The suspect in the battery of an occupant of a passenger vehicle has been charged. 

Larry Sawyer, 48, is facing felony Battery Causing Serious Bodily Injury after an incident that was caught on surveillance video along U.S. 50 at Hollywood Boulevard on May 15. 

In the video released by Lawrenceburg Police, a motorcyclist can be seen getting off his bike and throw several punches at an occupant of a convertible. Shortly after the incident, the victim was involved in a crash after losing consciousness behind the wheel. 

Sawyer, who was taken into custody on Friday, made his initial appearance in Dearborn County Court on Tuesday morning. He pleaded not guilty.

Sawyer's bond was set at $50,000 surety and $1,000 cash.
