Substitute Teacher Charged with Child Solicitation

An Aurora woman is accused of sending unclothed photos to an 8th grade student.

(Aurora, Ind.) - An Aurora woman who worked as a substitute teacher has been charged for allegedly sending nude photos to an 8th grader at South Dearborn Middle School.

Cassidy Carter, 21, was charged last Thursday with one count of Child Solicitation (Level 5 Felony).

According to a probable cause affidavit, Carter became friends with the student on Snapchat around the beginning of November 2023. During a forensic analysis of her phone, investigators say they located numerous Snapchat message threads between Carter and the student - which allegedly included unclothed photos.

Carter worked as a substitute teacher for the school district from September 7, 2023 to November 16, 2023.

A jury trial is scheduled for May 6.
