(Dillsboro, Ind.) - Great ideas around small business support, affordable housing, downtown reinvestment, safety, the arts, and walkability were offered up at the first Stellar Week activity in Dearborn County on Monday. The One Dearborn County team held a Stellar Workshop at the Dillsboro Civic Center, with local leaders and everyday citizens coming together to discuss needs and strategies to help our cities and towns thrive.

Besides helping communities identify a shared vision for what they want to be, why are we hosting these workshops and conducting an online survey? One Dearborn County hopes to attain the coveted Stellar Community designation from the Indiana Office of Community & Rural Affairs and millions in state funding to catalyze local projects in Dearborn County supporting the community's vision.

If you missed us Monday in Dillsboro, there are still great opportunities to share your perspectives and ideas with us in-person:

  • Greendale Stellar Workshop: August 22, 5:00 PM - 6:00 PM at Greendale City Hall, 500 Ridge Ave., Greendale, IN 47025.
  • Bright Stellar Workshop: August 22, 7:00 PM - 8:00 PM at the Bright Lions Club, 2160 Lamplight Dr., Bright, IN 47025.

Additionally, you can take the One Dearborn County Stellar Pathways Survey online here. The survey is open through August 31.

One Dearborn staff is available to present about Stellar and hear your community development ideas. Reply to this email to or call 812-537-4010 ext. 7233 to schedule a visit with your organization, club, or classroom.
