Situated along and around the Ohio River Scenic Byway, the Indiana Wine Trail makes for a great day trip. Holtkamp, the newest winery along the trail, is located in rural New Alsace in northern Dearborn County. An estate winery known for their award-winning vintages, Holtkamp offers a large selection of wines ranging from dry and semi-dry red and white wines, to sweet fruit wines and dessert wines. The family-owned boutique winery features an onsite tasting room as well as a deck overlooking the vineyards and pond.
As always during Wine Trail events, participants should bring ID along with them and select a designated driver in advance. Maps and distances between each of the wineries can be found on the Indiana Wine Trail website, or on brochures located at each of the participating wineries. Those who visit all seven wineries and complete their wine trail passport will receive a special souvenir at the end.
