Southeastern Career Center Students Advance To SkillsUSA State Competition

The SkillsUSA State Competition will be held at the Indiana State Fairgrounds on April 18 and 19.

(Vincennes, Ind.) - Southeastern Career Center competed at SkillsUSA Indiana Regional Leadership and Skills Conference Competition at Vincennes University in Vincennes, Indiana on February 8. 

“SkillsUSA prepares America’s high performance workers by providing quality education experiences for students in leadership, teamwork, citizenship and character development. Through building and reinforcing self-confidence, work attitudes and communications skills. The organization also emphasizes total quality at work, high ethical standards, superior work skills, life-long education and pride in the dignity of work. SkillsUSA also promotes understanding of the free enterprise system and involvement in community service activities.”

The SkillsUSA Indiana State Leadership and Skills Conference competes at the region and state level advancing to the national level. 

Southeastern Career Center advanced students to the state competition this past weekend which will be held at Indiana State Fairgrounds April 18 and 19. 

The following are results of the winners for the region competition of students from Southeastern Career Center. 

CNC Technician

  • Anthony Mulford - South Ripley - 3rd place
  • Nathan Kidwell - East Central HS - 4th place

Diesel Technology                                       

  • Jacob Grossman - South Ripley HS - 1st place
  • Conner Delay - Jac-Cen-Del HS - 2nd place
  • Fred Hauser - South Dearborn HS - 4th place
  • Brenna Huesman - South Ripley HS - 5th place

Technical Drafting                                   

  • Trevor Schacht - South Dearborn HS - 2nd place
  • Blaze Wallace - Rising Sun HS - 3rd place

Electrical Construction and Wiring        

  • Spencer Shaum - South Dearborn HS - 4th place

Carpentry

  • Christian Byrd - Jac-Cen-Del - 1st place
  • Sean Miner - Batesville HS - 4th place
  • Drake Walker - South Ripley HS - 5th place

Masonry

  • Tyler Pelfrey - South Ripley HS - 3rd place

Welding Technology

  • Hunter Foote - East Central HS - 2nd place
  • Keegan Weberding - Batesville High HS - 4th place
