(Versailles, IN) - Southeastern Career Center was recognized as a recipient of the Indiana CTE Award for Excellence in the category of Secondary CTE Program of Study for their Veterinary Program!

This honor, presented by the Indiana Commission for Higher Education and the Indiana Association for Career and Technical Education, recognizes outstanding career and technical education programs across the state of Indiana.

What makes this achievement even more special is the story behind their Veterinary Program. Just three years ago, under the leadership and vision of Ms. Bear, superintendent, SCC opened this program — the first new program SCC had introduced in some time. Since then, it has grown into an opportunity for students interested in animal science and veterinary careers.

Mrs. McQueen developed and launched both the first- and second-year curriculum. Mrs. Terrell has continued to grow the program and created hands-on learning experiences to help students thrive.

This recognition becomes even more meaningful knowing that this December, eight SCC Veterinary Program graduates who continued their education at the Vet Tech Institute of Indiana will graduate with their associate degrees.

"This award is a reflection of the dedication of our staff, students, and community partners who continue to make SCC a place where students can discover their passions and prepare for successful futures." a quote from the Southeastern Career Center on Facebook.
