(Switzerland County, Ind.) - Indiana Department of Transportation contractor Sunesis Construction Company is continuing slide correction work on State Road 156 just west of Markland Dam in Switzerland County.
On or after Monday, August 25, S.R. 156 will be reduced to one 10-foot lane using temporary traffic signals approximately two miles west of S.R. 101 for continued work.
Overall work is expected to be complete in mid-summer 2026, weather permitting. INDOT will provide additional updates as work progresses.
This project is part of a $7.2 million contract awarded to Sunesis in February 2024. INDOT reminds drivers to slow down, use extra caution and avoid distractions when traveling near work zones. All work is weather-dependent and schedules are subject to change.
