Senate & House Bills Await Gov. Holcomb's Signature

Governor Holcomb will have until Tuesday, March 17 to sign these bills into law.

(Indianapolis, Ind.) - A handful of legislation found its way on Governor Eric Holcomb's desk yesterday.

Senate and House bills have passed through the first steps of becoming law and now simply wait word from Indiana's governor.

From Various Welfare Matters (HEA 1009) to Insulin Drugs (SEA 255), and even Contracts for Emergency Road Repairs (HEA 1095) there are a variety of bills that were sent to Governor Holcomb.

A highly favored distracted driving bill will have the chance to officially ban the use of hand-held technology while operating a vehicle. This bill would pull the Hoosier state in line with 21 other states who already have laws of this stature in place.

Governor Holcomb will have exactly one week to sign these proposed bills before they automatically become law.

A veto would stop the proposed bills from becoming law, and signing the bill would show support from the Governor.
