Inclement weather will push the outage back a week.
(Osgood, Ind.) - The planned outage scheduled for the morning of April 13, 2022, at approximately 10 a.m. to change out a damaged utility pole has been rescheduled for Tuesday, April 19 due to the weather forecast. The outage is expected to last three to six hours and will impact approximately 150 members located on Georgetown Road from the intersection of Fairway Drive to the intersection of Morning Side Drive, including Merchant Way, in Dearborn County, Indiana.
Southeastern Indiana REMC encourages all members in the affected location to prepare for this interruption in service and will work quickly and safely to restore the power in a timely manner.
“Due to the forecasted rain on the 13th and 14th, we had to postpone the pole change out. We apologize for any inconvenience this may cause to our members,” said Jim Downey, Line Superintendent. “We try to make repairs without interrupting the electric service whenever possible but in cases like this one, it is not safe to change out the pole while it is still energized or while it’s raining.”
If the work is not able to be completed on April 19th, the backup date for the planned outage is April 20th.
