SEI REMC Board Elects First Female President

The 2025 Director Election was held on Monday.

(Osgood, Ind.) - Southeastern Indiana REMC history was made on Monday. 

Following the REMC 2025 Director Election, the REMC Board held its reorganizational session and elected new officers including Melissa Menchhofer, who will serve as REMC president.

She is the first female president in SEI REMC history. Other elected officials include Vice President Mike Thieman, Treasurer Casey Menchhofer, and Secretary Jesse McClure. 

All incumbents were re-elected in the Director Election. Jesse McClure retained the District 4 seat, while Melissa Menchhofer and Casey Menchhofer will serve District 5 and 9, respectively. 

Over 2,500 ballots were cast out of 24,068 members, a 10.79 percent turnout. 

David Smith (District 3) was elected President of the Hoosier Energy Board, the first from SEI REMC to hold this statewide leadership position.
