S. Ripley, Switz. Co. Top ORVC Boys Basketball Postseason Awards

By Travis Thayer (Versailles, Ind.) – Postseason honors have been bestowed to the top boys basketball players in the Ohio River Valley Conference. The 2016-2017 ORVC All-Conference Boys Basketball team, coach of the year and mental attitude award winners were announced Wednesday by the conference. The South Ripley Raiders and Switzerland County Pacers each earned a share of the 2016-17 ORVC Boys Basketball Championship, going 5-1 in conference play. Coincidentally, the ORVC Co-Coaches of the Year are South Ripley’s Travis Wrightsman and Switzerland County’s Adam Dennis. Each school placed three players on the All-ORVC team including: Avery Halcomb, Derek Turner and Cory Walker from South Ripley; and Justin Green, Hunter Hayes and Kollin Hayes from Switzerland County. The ORVC Mental Attitude Award winner is Christopher Grote, of Shawe Memorial. The Boys All-ORVC player selections, which were voted on by the head coaches of conference schools is listed below.
