Rising Sun's Oser, Switz Co.'s Del Rio Are ORVC Players Of The Week

By Travis Thayer (Rising Sun, Ind.) – Rising Sun High School’s Keira Oser was a goal scoring machine last week as the Lady Shiners improved their Ohio River Valley Conference record to 2-0. The ORVC report for the week of August 29 – September 3 was released Wednesday. The Lady Shiner’s soccer standout earned ORVC Girls Soccer Player of the Week honors by finding the back of the net six times in two games. On the boys’ side, Switzerland County’s Iago Del Rio earned ORVC Boys Soccer Player of the Week honors. Over three games, Del Rio accumulated five goals and two assists. The Shawe Memorial Lady Hilltoppers won the ORVC Girls Golf Championship on Saturday, September 3 at the Sunrise Golf Course in Madison. Individually, Lady Hilltoppers’ Megg Hensler and Carson Hambrick tied for first place with a low score of 87. South Ripley’s Megan Cole is the ORVC Girls Cross Country Runner of the Week. Cole posted a time of 20:55 at South Ripley, and a 21:10 at the Ripley County Meet. The ORVC Boys Runner of the Week is Southwestern’s Bradley Winston. Shawe Memorial’s Claire Higgins is the ORVC Volleyball Player of the Week.
