Rising Sun Regional Foundation Awards $244,300 in New Grants

A total of 10 grants were awarded.

(Rising Sun, Ind.) - The Rising Sun Regional Foundation (RSRF) awarded a total of $244,300 in new grants in the second quarter of 2025.

These grants included:

  • Batesville Fire and Rescue, $30,000 for extrication equipment;
  • Batesville Memorial Public Library, $25,000 for arts and innovation hub site improvement;
  • Town of Holton, $30,000 for a generator for the Holton Community Center;
  • New Marion Volunteer Fire Department, $30,000 for radio equipment upgrades;
  • Town of Osgood, $14,900 for a water tower mixer;
  • Rising Sun Municipal Utilities, $38,000 for water tower painting;
  • Rising Sun Ohio County Community School Corporation, $15,900 for a lawn mower;
  • Ross Run Chapter, Inc., Daughters of the American Revolution, $2,500 for a Revolutionary War Patriots Marker;
  • South Ripley Community School Corporation, $26,970 for expanded physical activity space at South Ripley Elementary School; 
  • Versailles Volunteer Fire Department, $30,940 for extrication equipment;

Applications for the third grant cycle of 2025 must be submitted by 4:00 p.m. on Tuesday, July 15, 2025. Applicants are advised to review the grant guidelines and criteria carefully before submitting their application. The Rising Sun Regional Foundation serves Ohio County, Ripley County, and the cities of Aurora and Batesville. Established in 1994 by the City of Rising Sun, the Foundation is funded by the Rising Star Casino & Resort, which is owned by Full House Resorts, Inc. The casino makes monthly contributions to the Foundation based on a percentage of its Adjusted Gross Revenue. To date, the Foundation has received over $46 million in casino funds, with at least 75 percent of that amount granted back to the community.
