RCCF Awards Over $70,000 In Scholarships To Graduates, College Students

Congratulations to all students receiving scholarships from the Ripley County Community Foundation.

(Ripley Co., Ind.) - With thanks to the Ripley County Community Foundation, 65 local students were able receive a total of $70,375 in scholarships. 

These 65 students were made up of 14 graduates from Batesville High School, 1 from East Central High School, 4 students from Jac-Cen-Del High School, 3 graduates from Milan High School, 2 from Oldenburg Academy, 14 seniors from South Ripley High School, and 22 current college students. 

“The value that scholarships provide our county’s youth go beyond measures," Laura Hamilton, Program Officer of the Ripley County Community Foundation, states. "For some students, it is the difference between attending the college of their dreams and/or the affordability of a post-secondary education. Our scholarships present opportunities to our students to become the next great leaders of Ripley County.”

Three scholarships are still accepting applications through June 1, including the Doris A. Brelage Nursing Scholarship, the Corinne’s Believers Memorial Scholarship, and the Integrity Machine Tool Technology Scholarship.

  • The J. Michael Hansen M.D. Memorial Scholarship ($5,000) – Elizabeth Loichinger from Batesville High School
  • The Samantha Hansen Memorial Scholarship ($2,800) – Elizabeth Evans from South Ripley High School
  • The George M. Hillenbrand Memorial Scholarship ($500 per year for four years) – Caroline Meer from Batesville High School (Freshman), Corinne Stone from Batesville High School (Sophomore), Emma Gausman from Purdue University (Junior), and Kirstin Krause from Oldenburg Academy (Senior)
  • Hillenbrand, Inc. STEM Scholarship ($1,000) – Talon Gobel from Milan High School, Abigail Blomer from Batesville High School, and Caleb Huffmeyer from Batesville High School
  • The Nixie B. Koelling STEM Memorial Scholarship ($1,000) – Jacob Deutsch from Batesville High School
