Crystal Pence
(Brookville, Ind.) - Crystal Pence has pleaded guilty to voluntary manslaughter for shooting and killing her brother, Ronald Pence.
The shooting took place in December of 2024 at an apartment complex on Fairfield Avenue. When Indiana State Police arrived at the scene, Ronald Pence had sustained a gunshot wound to the chest. Immediate medical aid was provided, but the life-saving measures were unsuccessful
Crystal, who was 29 at the time of the shooting, was taken into custody at the scene.
She was originally charged with murder but pleaded to a lesser felony charge during a pre-trial hearing on Wednesday.
Pence is facing 10 to 30 years behind bars and a lifetime on probation.
Sentencing is scheduled for September 23
