(Aurora, Ind.) – When the Ohio River swelled into the streets of downtown Aurora, two social clubs were among the worst-affected properties.

The Aurora Fraternal Order of Eagles and the Aurora Moose Lodge had a few feet of water in their buildings on the riverfront back in late February.  Much of the buildings had to be thrown out and thousands of dollars in repairs were needed.

Both non-profit organizations have given to the local community for many years. Now, members of the lodges are pulling together for a flood relief benefit.

The fundraising party will take place Saturday, April 21 starting at noon at the Aurora Moose Park, 7462 U.S. 50. The benefit will include a beer garden, food, giveaways, drawings, and the FOE’s famous horse races. The cover charge is $10 per person, or $15 per couple.

Music will be provided by Steve Brooks & the Bootleggers, Chronics, Bobby & Lisa, and Indiana Mud Bugs.

Free tent camping will be available, but campers must reserve a spot in advance by calling (812) 290-4001.

For more information on the Aurora Fraternal Order of Eagles and Aurora Moose Lodge flood relief benefit, call (812) 290-4001 or (812) 577-2171.
