(Osgood, Ind.) - A Ripley County paper laminating factory has been sold to a new owner. Cheshire, England-based API Group announced earlier this month that it had successfully completed the acquisition of Hazen Paper Company’s paperboard lamination facilities and business in Osgood. The property is located on Railroad Avenue. API Group says the acquisition is part of a strategy to focus on brand enhancement solutions for the packaging market that will allow the company to provide a combined foils and laminate offering to customers. “The addition of an established US Lamination business with a pedigree in key sectors is very welcome,” said Dino Kiriakopoulos, CEO of the API Group. “We have a strong track record of innovation, technical excellence and continuous improvement and we look forward to realizing the synergies this acquisition presents.” The Osgood employees are immediately being employed by API, said Kiriakopoulos. Hazen, based in Massachusetts, will continue to supply the API Osgood site with high quality silver and holographic lamination films. “From our dealings with API, we know they will be a good custodian of our Osgood and folding carton and box wrap business as they understand the industry and are focused on meeting customer needs” said John Hazen, President of the Hazen Paper Company. “We will work closely with API to ensure continuity for our customers throughout the transition and look forward to working in partnership with them on future projects.”
