One Saved from Apartment Fire in Milan

The incident occurred at an apartment on Maple Street

(Milan, Ind.) - Milan Volunteer Fire Department was called to a structure fire on Maple Street on Wednesday morning. 

Upon arrival, crews encountered a contents fire in a back bedroom of an apartment within the complex.

After completing a primary search for reported possible victims crews were able to knock down the fire and mark it controlled within minutes of arriving.

Prior to the arrival of crews, Town Marshall Terry Wilson was able to make entry into the apartment and pull a victim out to safety. Due to his heroic actions a live was saved.

Milan Fire was assisted at the scene by Deleware Community Volunteer Fire Department, Ripley County EMS, Ripley County Sheriff's Department, and Ripley County Communication.
