(Franklin County, Ind.) - Franklin County Sheriff's deputies responded to a two-vehicle crash late Friday night.
The accident took place around 10:30 p.m. on Causeway Road near the intersection with Saltwell Road in north central Franklin County.
The preliminary investigation indicates that a 2015 Ford Taurus, operated by William Pearson, age 52, of Everton, Indiana, was traveling eastbound on Causeway Road when it crossed left of center while entering a curve. The vehicle collided head-on with a 2015 Mack semi-truck traveling westbound, driven by Joseph McDonald, age 26, of Connersville, Indiana.
Pearson was pronounced deceased at the scene by the Franklin County Coroner’s Office.
A passenger in Pearson’s vehicle sustained non-life-threatening injuries and had to be extricated by emergency personnel. The passenger was transported to the University of Cincinnati Medical Center for treatment. The driver of the semi-truck was uninjured.
The crash remains under investigation by the Franklin County Sheriff’s Department.
