One Killed, Another Injured in State Road 48 Motorcycle Crash

The Dearborn County Sheriff's Office has identified the individuals involved in the single vehicle crash.

(Dearborn County, Ind.) - The Dearborn County Sheriff’s Office has identified the individuals involved in a fatal motorcycle accident on Tuesday afternoon.

Deputies were dispatched to the 5500 block of State Road 48 where they located Peggy and Michael Smith, of Lawrenceburg, lying in the yard of a residence with obvious injuries.

Peggy Smith sustained fatal injuries in the crash. Michael Smith was airlifted to UC Medical Center with unknown injuries.

The preliminary investigation indicated that Michael Smith was operating a 2018 Honda Trike when he left the roadway for an unknown reason causing the trike to roll several times and both occupants were ejected from the trike.

No further information was provided.
