(Dillsboro, Ind.) - One person is dead after a house fire in Clay Township.
Dillsboro firefighters were dispatched to the fire in the 12000 block of Hon Road on Friday around 11:27 p.m.
Upon arriving at the scene, firefighters found the home fully engulfed in flames. It was determined that the resident of the home may still be inside the home. After extinguishing the flames, firefighters located the body of the resident.
The name of the deceased has not been released at this time.
A cause of the fire remains under investigation.
Dillsboro was assisted on the scene by Aurora Fire Department, Milan Fire Department, Hogan Twp. Fire Department, Friendship Fire Department, Dillsboro EMS, Dearborn County Sheriff’s Department, Dearborn County Coroners Office and the Indiana State Fire Marshalls Office.
