Ohio County Tourism Seeking Locals For Community Mural

(Rising Sun, Ind.) – Ohio County Tourism is seeking locals to participate in a community mural project.

Local artist and Rising Sun-Ohio County Community School art teacher Amberly King will spearhead the project at the Ohio County Tourism Visitors Center.

Youths, adults, and local businesses are invited to participate in Rising Sun Community Arts Day on Saturday, September 18 from 10:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m.

Attendees will paint a square on the wall at the Visitors Center.

The project will encompass two hands made of the individually painted blocks. The second part of the project will be a “Welcome to Rising Sun” mural painted by King.

The community mural project is made possible through a grand award from the City of Rising Sun, Rising Sun Main Street and partial funding by Ohio County Tourism, Inc.

The event is free to attend, and all materials will be provided.
