Ohio Bank Robbery Suspect Captured At Hollywood Casino

A Fairfield Township man allegedly robbed a bank, then went gambling.

(Lawrenceburg, Ind.) - A bank robbery suspect from Ohio was found playing cards at Hollywood Casino in Lawrenceburg just hours after the stick-up.

Mark D. Lunsford, 59, of Fairfield Township, Ohio, is accused of robbing the People’s Bank in Carlisle, Ohio last Thursday afternoon, March 14.

According to a probable cause affidavit filed in Dearborn County court, an employee at the casino recognized photos of the suspect being shared in local media as Lunsford, a frequent patron at the casino. Indiana Gaming Commission agents at the riverboat were made aware that the robbery suspect resembled Lunsford.

Lunsford was found on the casino floor Thursday night by IGC agents, who took him into custody.

A stolen pickup truck Lunsford was allegedly driving was located in the casino parking garage. Inside the vehicle, clothing matching the items worn during the bank robbery were discovered, agents said.

Lunsford is charged in Indiana with Theft ($750-$50,000) (level 6 felony). A judge set his bond at $500,000 surety and $35,000 cash, citing his criminal history and the allegations he committed a bank robbery in Ohio.

In Ohio, the Carlisle Police Department says Lunsford will be charged with Robbery.
