New Alsace Conservation Club Announces 32nd Fishing Derby

The fishing derby will be held on Saturday, June 20.

(Sunman, Ind.) - The New Alsace Conservation Club has announced that 32nd Annual Fishing Derby will happen this year.

Rain or shine, the derby will be held on Saturday, June 20 from 7:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. at Lake In The Pines, just west of New Alsace at 10412 N. Dearborn Rd., Sunman.

"Our derby is designed to encourage adults and children alike to enjoy fishing, the outdoors and practice water safety and social distancing," says the New Alsace Conservation Club.

Derby and door prizes will be given away throughout the day.

The derby is open to the public, and will require an entry fee of $18.00 for adults and children 12 years and older. Children 12 and under are free.

Registration will begin at 6 a.m. on derby day, and continue through 3 p.m. Participants will not be required to have an Indiana fishing license since the derby is held at a private lake.

During the derby, a six foot social distancing rule will be in place. Masks are not required. Find a full list of rules here
