(Lawrenceburg, Ind.) – The next National Drug Take Back event is coming up soon.

The DEA will host a National Drug Take Back on Saturday, October 24 from 10:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m.

During that time, anyone can drop off unwanted or expired medications to any Indiana State Police Post.

The Drug Take Back Day addresses a crucial public safety and public health issue.

According to the 2018 National Survey on Drug Use and Health, 9.9 million Americans misused controlled prescription drugs. The study shows that a majority of abused prescription drugs were obtained from family and friends, often from home medicine cabinets.
