(Boone County, Ky.) - You’ll have to pardon the dust in Boone County, because two new businesses are ready to be built.
Florence city officials are taking part in a groundbreaking ceremony for a new Menard’s store on Mall Road. It will complete the new Florence Heights shopping center.
The 170,000-square-foot home improvement store was first announced in 2014, but was put on hold by Wisconsin-based Menard’s until now.
“Our community and the entire Northern Kentucky area are excited to see Menards coming to Florence. We look forward to seeing the construction begin, and celebrating their grand opening in the months to follow”, said Florence Mayor Diane Whalen.
A groundbreaking was being held at the Menard’s site Thursday, June 14.
On Tuesday, Boone County Judge-Executive Gary Moore and executives with StoryPoint broke ground on a new 162-unit senior assisted living facility in Union, according to the Cincinnati Enquirer.
StoryPoint’s 187,000-square-foot complex will be built on 14 acres along U.S. 42.
The large nursing home will employ about 80 people.
