Maxwell Sworn in as Senate District 43 State Senator

INDIANAPOLIS - State Sen. Randy Maxwell (R-Guilford) was sworn in as state senator of Indiana Senate District 43 by Indiana Supreme Court Chief Justice Loretta Rush today in the Senate Chamber.

Maxwell succeeds State Sen. Chip Perfect (R-Lawrenceburg), who resigned from his position effective Tuesday, Sept. 26. Maxwell will finish the remainder of Perfect's term through November of 2026, serving Dearborn, Jefferson, Ohio, Scott and Switzerland counties and southern Jennings County.

"I am honored to have been chosen to represent Senate District 43," Maxwell said. "I am ready to give more time and commitment back to our communities and look forward to proudly serving Hoosiers at the Statehouse."

A lifelong Hoosier, Maxwell grew up in Logan and graduated from Indiana University (IU) where he played football from 1995-1999 and received degrees in finance-real estate and entrepreneurship from the IU Kelley School of Business.

Maxwell is the CEO of Maxwell Construction, his family-owned Southeast Indiana general contractor and development company, which he has been involved in his whole life. He has also been active in many community organizations, including the Dearborn County Homebuilders Association (former president and current member), Ripley County Chamber of CommerceBatesville Chamber of Commerce, Indiana Unemployment Insurance Board (appointed by Gov. Mitch Daniels in 2007), Southeast Indiana YMCA Board of Directors1Dearborn Economic Development Organization (vice president and founding member) and All Saints Catholic Parish in Dearborn County (former finance council president). He has also coached various local youth organizations for 20 years and his family is a proud supporter of YoungLife in Dearborn County.

"With decades of community involvement and service to speak for, my roots run deep in Southeast Indiana," Maxwell said. "This is why I stand ready to represent our communities' values at the Statehouse and see what more can be done to help our communities continue to grow."

Maxwell and his wife, Robin, are high school sweethearts and have three children – former Purdue University football player Alex, Xavier University student Kyla and East Central High School senior Dylan.
