(Aurora, Ind.) - Matthews Aurora Funeral Solutions is going to be doing some hiring at its Aurora casket facility.

The Pittsburgh-based company announced Monday that it will add 35 positions as a cremation casket product line is added to the current metal casket production in Dearborn County.

“The positions are being added to support the second phase of a manufacturing transition which began in December 2018 and has already created nearly 40 positions over the last four months,” according to a Matthews International news release.

Last November, Matthews Aurora Funeral Solutions announced that it would be closing its plant in Richmond, Indiana, with production of metal caskets relocated to Aurora. At the time, the company said the Aurora plant was receiving a multi-million dollar facility upgrade.

Management at the Aurora facility expects to begin the hiring in June, offering a competitive wage and benefits package. People interested in filling the new jobs may apply at www.matw.com or may contact Tim McGraw at tmcgraw@matw.com.

Matthews International purchased Aurora Casket in 2015 from New York-based private equity firm Kohlberg & Company, LLC.
