(Milan, Ind.) – The number 19 was the lucky number on Monday night.

With only two numbers left on the board, the Milan American Legion Post 0235 Treasure Hunt came to an end, as Ripley County Jail employee Taylor Waldman took home the jackpot.

Trustee Mike Hildebrand and Commander Walt Ruggles presented Waldman, 24, with a ceremonial check of $1,080,400.

The real check presented to Waldman comes in short of a million dollars after taxes.

Hitting the jackpot put an end to over 50 weeks of Treasure Hunt fun and heartbreak.

The Milan American Legion is expected to start a new Treasure Hunt with a fresh 52 number board in the near future.

An exact start date has yet to be announced.
