(Aurora, Ind.) - The Aurora community is mourning the loss of Dr. Frank Burton.

He passed away on November 7 at the age of 83.

Burton was an "Army brat" growing up, so he lived many places, but he eventually called Aurora home. He was an optometrist and practiced at 401 Third Street in Aurora for 50 years, after graduating from Indiana University and its School of Optometry.

Burton was a strong supporter of Main Street Aurora, was active in the Jaycees, a coach for SAY soccer, a member of the Dearborn County Chamber of Commerce, and served on the board of the Dearborn County Hospital Foundation. He was also a member of the Aurora Lions Club, Treasurer of Trinity Episcopal Church and a long-time member of the American Legion Post 0231.

Friends and family will be received on Friday, November 14 beginning at 10:00 AM at Trinity Episcopal Church, 101 W Center Street, Lawrenceburg. A memorial service will follow at 1:00 PM.

Memorial contributions may be made to Trinity Episcopal Church or the Aurora EMS.
