Local Man Seeking Lifesaving Kidney Transplant

Any blood type can be considered for the transplant, and there is no cost to the donor.

(Lawrenceburg, Ind.) - A local man is seeking a lifesaving kidney transplant.

Chris Adams, of Lawrenceburg, was diagnosed with diabetes in his early 20's, which is one of the leading causes of kidney failure in the United States. Since his diagnosis, he has had 20 surgeries and have endured eye injections every eight weeks. He currently spends 60 hours a week on dialysis.

Although the decline in his kidney function has been gradual, it has worsened and he is now in end stage kidney failure.

Any blood type can be considered for the transplant, and there is no cost to the donor as all testing and surgery is covered by the recipient's insurance.

You do not need to live near the transplant center to go through the testing process or donation surgery. Those interested in helping should call The Christ Hospital at 513-585-1427 and they will guide you through the next steps.

Adams, 44, is a loving husband and father.

"My wife and two boys (ages 9 and 16) mean the world to me. A new kidney will give me the opportunity to see my children grow up, get married, and start their own families," said Adams.
