Lawrenceburg First Responders Receive Alert About an Individual Jumping from the Carroll Cropper Bridge.

The patient was flown to U.C. Hospital via Air Care with unknown injuries.

(Lawrenceburg, IN) - At approximately 9:04 a.m. The Lawrenceburg Fire Department received a notification of a person who had jumped from the Carroll Cropper bridge.

The duty crew proceeded to Tanners Creek boat ramp and launched the department’s boat. Upon arriving Police units from Indiana and Kentucky were on the bridge investigating.

Lawrenceburg Fire Department began a single unit creeping line search pattern. Indiana and Kentucky police units were searching the water with drones.

The boat was relocated and again a coordinated search pattern was initiated. After completing LFD contacted Boone County Officers on the Kentucky shore. L.F.D. was then directed down river to identify objects found.

Hebron Fire Department arrived and collaborated with the Lawrenceburg Fire Department on the area they had covered near the bridge. The L.F.D. boat proceeded down river to identify additional objects spotted by nearby security cameras.

As the L.F.D. boat moved closer, they found the victim floating on their back. A Lawrenceburg Rescue swimmer jumped in and made contact with the victim who was conscious and talking.

Swimmers verbally assessed while swimming towards the boat. The victim was brought into the boat and was medically assessed for any apparent injuries by L.F.D. Emt’s on the boat.

L.F.D. proceeded to the River Watch Restaurant where care was turned over to Lawrenceburg Paramedics.

The patient was flown to U.C. Hospital via Air Care with unknown injuries.
