(Franklin County, Ind.) - An arrest was made last Thursday following an investigation into a stolen mini excavator in early December.
Wayne County Sheriff's Department, along with deputies from Franklin County Sheriff's Department, responded to an address in the 100 block of Commerce Street in Laurel.
Deputies say they quickly identified the stolen equipment sitting on a trailer. At that time, deputies attempted to make contact with Hunter. It was alleged Hunter saw the officers and began throwing items, which he retrieved out of his pockets.
Hunter was eventually taken into custody and was allegedly found in possession of methamphetamine.
Charles Hunter, 48, is charged with a felony and misdemeanor related to possession of methamphetamine and resisting arrest. Additional charges are pending from the Wayne County investigation.
