The lane shifts will occur between Aurora and Dillsboro where white-topping operations are taking place.

(Dearborn County, Ind.) – Lane shifts will begin next week on U.S. between Aurora and Dillsboro.
The Indiana Department of Transportation has rescheduled its rerouting of traffic to the newly paved lanes on the north side of U.S. 50 to Tuesday, October 2.
The lane shift was supposed to occur this week but didn’t happen due to inclement weather.
The state’s $16.8 million “white top” project in Dearborn County extends from State Road 101 west of Dillsboro to a terminus 2.44 miles west of State Road 350 in Aurora.
When traffic is shifted Tuesday, both eastbound and westbound motorists will travel in single lanes on U.S. 50’s north side while eastbound lanes on the south side are under construction.
All asphalt and concrete pavement patching in this 12-mile section of U.S. 50 will be completed before INDOT’s contractor pauses operations for a winter hiatus.
Come spring, the eastbound side will be white-topped.
The project completion date is late-July.
