The Kentucky Transportation Cabinet announced today lane closures on I-71 southbound from the Boone/Gallatin County line to south of U.S. 127 in Gallatin County.
One lane is closed to continue work on a resurfacing project. Work is scheduled to take place from 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. and then continuing overnight from 8:00 p.m. to 8:00 a.m.
Project leaders anticipate the southbound lane closures will last for several days. Signs have been posted ahead of the work zone to warn motorists of the lane closure.
Northbound lane closures are also expected, and more details will be released at a further date.
The anticipated completion of the resurface project is scheduled for summer 2023.
