(Jennings County, Ind.) - The Jennings County community is mourning the loss of Landyn Porter.
Porter was a junior at Jennings County High School and a three-year member of the football program.
"Landyn was truly a bright spot in this world, with a contagious positivity, and a determination, despite all that he had been dealt with in his health. Landyn enjoyed the weight room, especially deadlift, and had really developed over his three years. Landyn was a pure hearted young man that could commonly be found fist bumping teammates, classmates, coaches and teachers, just to say good morning each day. Landyn was the type of kid that keeps coaches coming back each day.
Please send all of your thoughts and prayers to Ashley & the family as they navigate this terrible loss. Keep our players and members of the JC community in your thoughts as prayers," reads a statement from Jennings County Football.
JCHS will have clergy, counselors, and admin available for students and staff to talk with on Wednesday evening in the commons from 5:00-7:30 PM.
