The new contract will take effect immediately.

(Osgood, Ind.) - The Jac-Cen-Del Community School Corporation has officially ratified a new two-year contract with its teaching staff, securing increased compensation and expanded benefits for educators across the district.
The agreement includes a total of $5,000 in salary increases spread across the two years of the contract. It also increases the starting teacher salary to $46,000. In addition to the pay raise, the corporation will boost its contribution toward employee health insurance, helping offset rising premium costs for teachers and their families.
The contract also enhances the corporation’s retirement plan by increasing the percentage contributed on behalf of employees—an investment Superintendent Sam Melton says underscores their commitment to long-term educator support and retention.
Melton also noted that the agreement reflects a shared priority of remaining competitive while valuing the work of Jac-Cen-Del’s teachers.
The new contract will take effect immediately.
