A 48-year-old male sustained a fatal gunshot wound.

(Patriot, Ind.) - Multiple law enforcement agencies responded to a residence in the 11000 block of Bryants Creek Road in rural Switzerland County after receiving reports of a person being shot.
The incident took place on Saturday, July 11, shortly before 9:00 p.m.
Upon arriving at the address, officers located a 48-year-old male deceased with injuries consistent with a gunshot wound. He was pronounced deceased at the scene by the Switzerland County Coroner’s Office.
Detectives from the Indiana State Police-Versailles Post responded to lead the investigation. Indiana State Police Crime Scene Investigators responded to collect evidence and to document the crime scene.
At this time, no arrests have been made related to the shooting, as this is an ongoing investigation with an autopsy to be conducted.
However, this is believed to be an isolated incident with no ongoing threat to the public.
