Indiana Department Of Education Selects Designer For ILEARN Exam

By Travis Thayer (Indianapolis, Ind.) – A non-profit assessment and research company has been selected to design the replacement for the ISTEP exam. The Indiana Department of Education announced Monday that Washington, D.C. based American Institutes for Research will create the new ILEARN exam for Hoosier students in grades three through eight. The contract is worth $43.4 million over three years. The new ILEARN exam will be completely online and will test students for English and Math. The test questions will change depending on whether a student answers the current question correctly or not. ILEARN will be implemented during the 2018-19 school year.
