UPDATE:All I-71 southbound traffic is now being diverted off at the Verona exit (Exit 72). Motorists can detour using KY 14 to U.S. 42, to U.S. 127, to I-71 southbound. Expect significant delays. No timeline has been provided for when the incident will be cleared.
(Gallatin County, Ky.) - The Kentucky Transportation Cabinet (KYTC) advises motorists of a traffic alert on Interstate 71 southbound in Gallatin County.
A single lane closure is in place on I-71 southbound at the 64 mile marker due to a commercial vehicle fire. This is located approximately two miles north of the Glencoe exit.
Motorists are encouraged to find alternate routes to avoid potential delays. No estimated timeline has been provided for when the incident will be cleared. KYTC will provide further updates on when the lane reopens on social media.
