(Florence, Ky.) - A local horse jockey died in a crash in Florence early Monday morning.
Florence Police say a car driven by Euclyn E. Prentice, Jr. struck the side of a TANK bus at the intersection of Houston Road and Hansel Avenue around 12:30 a.m. Firefighters had to extricate Prentice from the seriously damaged car.
Prentice, 28, of the Virgin Islands, was rushed to St. Elizabeth Hospital in Florence where he was pronounced dead.
The driver and a passenger on the TANK bus were not hurt.
The crash remains under investigation by the Florence Police Accident Reconstruction Unit. Anybody who may have witnessed the crash is asked to contact the police department at (859) 647-5420.
