Home2 Suites by Hilton Hotel Construction Underway in Greendale

(Greendale, Ind.) - Greendale Mayor Vince Karsteter is excited to announce the development of a new Home2 Suites by Hilton® hotel in the City of Greendale, which will support Dearborn County’s vibrant tourism and entertainment industry.

Construction began this spring on Flossie Drive. Agreements in place between the Greendale Redevelopment Commission, Dearborn Community Development Corporation, and developer Greendale Hospitality, LLC outlines the developer’s commitment to build the 88-room hotel and open it to travelers by December 31, 2026. The project marks a $16.8 million investment in the city.

“With snow skiing at Perfect North Slopes, dirt track racing at Lawrenceburg Speedway, live music at Whiskey City’s Liberty Theater, and increasingly more activities and attractions happening year-round in Greendale and across our county, this new hotel will serve as needed, high-quality lodging for the thousands of people who visit our community every year,” said Mayor Karsteter.

The Greendale Redevelopment Commission is providing a $650,000 economic development grant to enable the project through the land site purchase. An agreement guarantees the new tax revenue collected from the development will help the city realize a full payback within 10 years, in addition to continuing return on investment for taxpayers for years afterward.

This investment strengthens tourism and supports continued economic development throughout the region.”

The Home2 Suites in Greendale will mark the second Hilton hotel in Dearborn County, following the 2014 opening of the DoubleTree by Hilton hotel at the Lawrenceburg Event Center.
