Highpoint Health Offering Four New Grief Support Groups

If you have experienced the loss of a loved one, these groups offer a safe, supportive place where you can mourn.

(Lawrenceburg, Ind.) - Highpoint Health Home Health & Hospice will be offering four new specialized support groups for those coping with grief.  Two of the groups will begin meeting in August.

“If you have experienced the loss of a loved one, these groups offer a safe, supportive place where you can mourn, share and process your personal loss,” explained Rev. Patti Warning, BA, Highpoint Health Hospice Bereavement Coordinator.  “The support groups are recommended for those who are at least three months past their initial loss.”

The new support groups are:

  • Widows/Widowers – This group will meet on Tuesdays for six weeks from August 7 through September 11, from 6:00 to 7:30 p.m.
  • Beacons of Hope – Created specifically for those whose loved one died a traumatic death, Beacons of Hope will meet on Thursdays for six weeks from August 9 through September 13, from 6:00 to 7:30 p.m.
  • Whispers of Hope – This support group is for those who had a loved one die from a drug overdose.  The group will meet on Tuesdays from October 2 through October 30, from 6:00 to 7:30 p.m.
  • Holidays and Grief – Designed to help survivors cope with the holiday season, the group will meet on Tuesdays from November 6 through November 20, from 6:00 to 7:30 p.m.

Support groups will be held in the Home Health & Hospice offices, 370 Bielby Road, Lawrenceburg. Each group is free to the public, however, registration is required.
