High School Seniors Can Apply for Wilke S. and James W. Lemon Scholarship Opportunity

The scholarship is administered through The Friendship State Bank.

(Friendship, Ind.) - Calling all high school seniors in Ripley, Dearborn, Ohio, Switzerland, and Jefferson County. 

The Friendship State Bank is accepting scholarship applications for their Wilke S. and James W. Lemon Scholarship. The scholarship is designed to support students who demonstrate academic achievement, leadership, and a commitment to their community.

Award amounts are $3,000 and $1,000. 

Eligibility requirements: 

  • Graduating high school senior in Ripley, Dearborn, Ohio, Switzerland, or Jefferson County, Indiana.
  • 2.5 or better cumulative GPA on a 4.0 scale.
  • Plan on attending an accredited college, university or technical school.
  • Exhibit strong commitment to community.

Applicants will need to complete an essay of 250 words or less answering the question: “What is the importance of a community bank to you in our communities?”

On a separate page, applicants should list all community service involvements. 

The application deadline is April 4.
