Great Parks Passport Inspires Guests to Find Their Wild

(Hamilton County, Oh.) - Great Parks has introduced its new Park Passport, a palm-sized booklet inspiring people of all ages and skill levels to set out on new adventures in Hamilton County. The Passport includes engaging park-specific challenges, trails and journal pages to encourage learning and exploration across Great Parks destinations, consisting of more than 18,000 acres.

“There are endless experiences for everyone to discover at Great Parks,” said Rachel Doellman, chief of marketing & brand strategy. “For guests who are in the habit of visiting their local park, the Passport will inspire them to try out a new destination. For those who haven’t joined us yet, the Passport is a perfect guide to plan your first visit.”

Passport pages include quick facts and lists of suggested activities for the largest Great Parks, with fun challenges and room to capture field notes and sketches. Passport holders can check a box for each completed trail and challenge, and even mark their personal rating of the featured parks. A convenient map pinpoints all Great Parks destinations, and guests can check off each one they visit.

The Passport includes dozens of ideas to “Find Your Wild.” Listen for a woodpecker on the Gorge Trail in Sharon Woods. Take aim at an archery class in Winton Woods. Pedal a dragon boat at Miami Whitewater Forest Lake. Search for the lotus pond at Glenwood Gardens. Toss a round of disc golf at Woodland Mound. There are many other options in the Passport, and even more that guests will find on their own or with the help of employees wearing “Great Parks Expert” buttons.

Passports are free and available at visitor centers at Miami Whitewater Forest, Winton Woods, Woodland Mound, Sharon Woods and Glenwood Gardens. The first 100 guests to pick up a Passport at a visitor center will also receive a free sticker sheet. Park guests who fill the pages of their Passport earn an official stamp of completion, a discount on Great Parks merchandise, and a special Great Parks gift. The first gift is a Great Parks branded water bottle holder (while supplies last). If guests can’t make it to a visitor center during operating hours, they can order one online or attend a pop-up event from 11 a.m. – 1 p.m. on July 5 at Woodland Mound. Passport users are encouraged to share their notes, sketches and experiences on social media, tagging Great Parks and using #FindYourWild.
