(Indianapolis, Ind.) - An executive order was signed on Friday to increase child care options for Hoosier families looking for support during virtual school days.
Governor Holcomb signed Executive Order 20-40, which allows school corporations across the state to contract with organizations, like Boys and Girls Club and YMCA, to operate school-age child care programs in locations outside public school buildings to assist the families that need care while students are in e-learning.
Additionally, this order will increase the number of school-aged children allowed to gather in a home on a school day for e-learning without requiring a license from six to ten children.
