Ghent Man Charged with Murder

The shooting incident took place early Saturday morning in Owen County.

(Carroll Country, Ky.) - The Kentucky State Police are investigating a fatal shooting in Owen County. 

Troopers received a call around 2:00 AM on Saturday about a man who had sustained gunshot wounds near the Monterey community. 

Upon arrival, troopers discovered Jamar Douglas, 26, unconscious with multiple gunshot wounds. The preliminary investigation indicates that Douglas was shot by Gary Bullion, a 52-year-old man from Ghent, Kentucky. Douglas was flown to the University of Kentucky Hospital where he succumbed to his injuries. 

Bullion is in custody and is facing charges of Murder, Possession of Controlled Substance 1st Degree, Possession of Marijuana, and Possession of Drug Paraphernalia. 

He is currently lodged at the Carroll County Detention Center.
