Friendship State Bank to Award Three Scholarships to Area High School Seniors

(Friendship, Ind.) – High school seniors in Ripley, Dearborn, Ohio, Switzerland, and Jefferson counties can now apply for the Wilke S. and James W. Lemon Scholarship.

The Friendship State Bank will award three scholarships to students that make a difference in their communities.

One major scholarship will be awarded in the amount of $3,000, while two additional scholarships of $1,000 each are available.

To qualify, students must meet the following criteria:

  • Attend high school in one of the eligible counties.
  • Maintain a 2.5 or better GPA.
  • Have plans to attend college, university, or technical school.
  • Demonstrate a strong commitment to community service.

Applicants must craft a compelling essay of 250 words or less about the importance of a community bank.

The deadline to apply is April 5.
