Florence Man Charged With Manslaughter After Fatal Crash In Gallatin Co.

The accident allegedly occurred while fleeing from police.

(Warsaw, Ky.) - Charges have been filed after a fatal crash in Gallatin County. 

According to Kentucky State Police, Josh Hodges, 31, of Florence, has been charged with Manslaughter 2nd Degree, Assault 2nd Degree, and Criminal Mischief 1st Degree for his role in a deadly crash on January 17 on U.S. 42 near Warsaw. 

Hodges was at the wheel of a speeding vehicle that failed to stop for police. During the pursuit, Hodges wrecked his vehicle into a concrete wall, injuring himself, his front seat passenger, and killing Shanda Withrow, 54, of Hamilton, Ohio.

On the night of the collision, Hodges was charged with Fleeing or Evading Police 1st Degree, in addition to multiple traffic offenses. 

Hodges is currently lodged at Louisville Metro Corrections.
